What is Sea moss?

Sea moss aka Irish moss aka Chondrus Crispus / Gracilaria is a sea plant derived from Red Algae.

 

Do you add anything to your Sea moss?

Absolutely NOT! All-natural, no added preservatives.

Do I need to clean the Sea moss?

Yes! Our sea moss comes from the sea so it is important that you wash the natural sea salt, sand, and any other sea elements prior to soaking.

 

How do I use Sea moss?

Sea moss is an amazing nutritionally packed replacement for thickening agents and binders such as soy lecithin, gelatine, corn starch, and egg yolks. You can use sea moss in your smoothies, perfect for raw dessert recipes such as raw cheesecakes, whipped cream, mousse, non-dairy ice cream, sauces, dressings, jams, puddings, and chutneys. It can be used in teas and juices.

 

Sea moss can also be used topically. You can add it to your bath to give your skin a good mineral healing and hydrating treatment.

How much Sea moss should I eat?

We recommend one to two teaspoons a day.

What size are your jars?

300 ml and 720 ml available.

How much dried Sea moss should I prepare at one time?

We recommend you start with soaking 28 grams of sea moss to prepare your gel. Sea moss absorbs the water and will expand 3 times its original dried size.

How long can I store dried Sea moss?

If stored properly in a cool dry place you can keep your dried sea moss for 1 year from your purchase date.

How long does the Sea moss gel last?

Sea moss gel can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 weeks. This is also depending on the flavour. Keeping the gel refrigerated, cap secured and using a clean spoon each time can prolong the shelf life of the

sea moss gel. Freezing sea moss gel to prolong shelf life is also an option too.

Can I consume Sea moss if I am pregnant or nursing?

Although sea moss has been safely used by pregnant and breastfeeding women for years, we are not medical professionals and suggest that you consult with your doctor before consuming.

Can I consume Sea moss gel when taking medication?

Consuming sea moss gel along with medication/s might decrease how much medication/s your body absorbs and decrease the effectiveness of the medication/s. Please consult with your doctor before consuming, as we are not medical professionals.

WARNING: Do not consume when taking any Iodine supplement or blood thinner. If you are taking an iodine supplement, because of the natural high iodine levels you would want to replace one for the other.
